In a "futuristic and post-apocalyptic feudal Japan", where whoever achieves the symbolic scarf "Number one" will rule the world as a "god". However, only the one with the "Number Two" scarf has the right to challenge it. Afro Samurai, is the current Number Two, and travels the world in search of revenge, for the current Number One who killed his father.
